TOPHEAVY's "mighty pop" broke into the Boston music scene in the fall of 1999. Using a combination of energetic guitar riffs, hook-laden melodies, and a driving rhythm section for their up-tempo rock songs, TOPHEAVY quickly went from playing smaller, local clubs, to some of the area's top venues, including The Linwood, The Middle East, T.T. the Bear's, Pearl Street Nightclub, the Webster Underground.

With the release of their debut 4-song cd "BITESIZE" in December 2001, the infectious TOPHEAVY sound has reached far and wide, allowing the band to broaden its fan base by performing in NYC, RI, PA, CT, ME, NH, DC, and Montreal QC.

Recorded and produced by Sir David James Minehan, both the "Bite Size" EP and the full-length "LoveDrunk" CD received radio airplay on Boston's WBCN 104.1 FM "Emmisions", WXRV 92.5 FM, WSRO 1470 AM, Ithaca, NY's WICB 91.7 FM, Spiderbite internet radio and international exposure in Europe and South America. The cds capture TOPHEAVY's live energy and gritty vocals and were considered one of the best new releases of 2001 and 2003 by the Boston Metronome.

In August of 2003 TOPHEAVY was selected (out of over 2,500 contestants) as one of the TOP 50 unsigned bands in the USA, to compete for the Coca-Cola sponsored/American Music Awards "New Music Award." Additionally, four of the songs from the LoveDrunk CD were given honorable mentions in the 2004 BillBoard Songwriting contest.

TOPHEAVY, comprised of Chris Wagner(vocals/guitar), Rod Eymael(lead guitar/vocals), Mike Martino(drums, vocals), and Corey Buckingham (bass, vocals)has become the definitive line-up for the band.

As a result, the band's sound grew into the heavy, lament-laden pop-rock, that could only be described as TOPHEAVY. As the summer of 2006 unfolds, TOPHEAVY shows no sign of slowing down. Increased interstate club and college touring and recording of a new cd are only the start of the band's plans. Don't miss the rock experience that is TOPHEAVY, the harbingers of the
